Bas assesses the commercial feasibility of new investment opportunities and supports portfolio companies with their long-term on strategy and commerce.
Bas is an experienced entrepreneur who founded and managed several successful companies in the travel industry. Among others, he built tour operator JIBA (formerly TravelTrex) from scratch, which was sold to Sunweb in 2006. In 2004, Bas acquired Vakantiereiswijzer.nl early-stage and transformed it into Zoover; market leader in customer reviews for travel accommodations and destinations. A majority share was sold to Tomorrow Focus in 2012, and Bas is now part-time Chief Commercial Officer of Zoover.
Andreas is the chairman of Axivate Capital’s Investment Committee and works closely with portfolio companies on business development and growth initiatives.
Andreas has over fifteen years of experience as a corporate and restructuring advisor for KPMG Transaction Services and Business Creation. Prior to the launch of Axivate Capital, he built a strong track record in executing M&A transactions and hands-on investments during his time as Managing Partner of Plain Vanilla Investments. Andreas is also a hands-on investor specializing in leisure, professional services and consumer products.
Bert focuses on the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and due diligence of investment opportunities. He is also a committed mentor to our portfolio companies, supporting them with strategy and business development.
Bert started his career as a journalist when he joined VNU Business Publications (renamed Nielsen Company) in 1986. Bert embraced the rise of the web and he set up the first online Dutch job board Intermediair Online in 1994. From there on, he built a strong track record in identifying and building new digital businesses. Among others, Bert was responsible for the acquisition and management of Startpagina.nl, NU.nl and Kieskeurig. He had similar success in Central and Eastern Europe for Sanoma Magazines International, and led @Leisure Group for two years.
Stefan focuses on the sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence of investment opportunities.
Stefan has a passion for revolutionary technologies. He started his career at HotWired in San Francisco, where the banner was invented. After his return to the Netherlands, he founded an online business consultancy and co-wrote the bestseller “The Piranha Economy” in which he anticipated the rise of Software as a Service. He continued his career at T-Mobile and Sanoma Media as Director Online Strategy and M&A; working on acquisitions including KiesKeurig, energieprijzen.nl and Fashionchick. Stefan joined WeTransfer in 2011, where he is responsible for finance and monetization in his role as Chief Ventures Officer.
Gijs focuses on the sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence of investment opportunities.
Gijs is an experienced publisher; previously launching and managing numerous magazines, websites and events for media companies including Future Publishing, WoltersKluwer and VNU Media. In addition, Gijs was also on the Management Board of Dutch digital media association IPAN. At VNU Media, Gijs conducted multiple projects for VNUs e-business magazine Emerce, which he acquired in 2009 by means of a management buy-out. Under his wings, Emerce became a multi-channel platform for online business, media and marketing.
Stephan focuses on the sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence of investment opportunities.
Stephan has extensive international experience in the field of online leisure. He was General Manager and co-owner of the European online travel agency Travel Horizon until 2006. Hereafter, Stephan switched to Zoover International as COO and co-investor, where he was appointed CEO in 2009. Stephan was the first to receive the award for “Leading Online Entrepreneur of the Year” (LOEY) in 2010.
